Books

The Lublin University of Technology Publishing House specialises in publishing monographs, textbooks, journals, lecture notes and commemorative publications by staff at the Lublin University of Technology.

Our publishing house is a division of the Centre of Scientific and Technical Information. It was originally established within the Lublin University of Technology Library in 2010 as the Centre for Publications and the Digital Library, which, from the very beginning of its operations, focused on publishing open-access materials. In 2019, the Centre was transformed into the Lublin University of Technology Publishing House (LUT PH).

In collaboration with the Scientific Council, the LUT PH ensures the transparency of the peer-review process and upholds ethical publishing standards. We place particular importance on maintaining high editorial standards and adapting works to accessibility requirements.

Since February 2025, electronic versions of books published by the Lublin University of Technology Publishing House have been made available in the institutional Repository of Open Resources and Knowledge – ROCK (previously in the Lublin University of Technology Digital Library). All the Publishing House’s publications are made available online under Creative Commons licences. For books (academic monographs, textbooks and others), the CC BY-SA 4.0 licence is used. Our books are indexed in the international DOAB database.

All books are checked with an anti-plagiarism system, and authors are required to declare any use of AI.

Journals

Since 2019, the editorial process for most journals published or co-published by the Lublin University of Technology has been carried out using the OJS system on the Lublin University of Technology Publishing House platform. Initially, the following titles were published:  Civil and Architectural Engineering (BiA), Informatics, Control, Measurement in Economy and Environmental (IAPGOŚ), Journal of Technology and Exploitation in Mechanical Engineering (JTEME), Teka Commission of Architecture, Urban Planning and Landscape (TEKA), Protection of Cultural Heritage (ODK) and the Journal of Computer Sciences Institute (JCSI). Over the years, additional journals have joined the platform: Applied Computer Science (ACS) from 2022, and Problems of Sustainable Development (ProEko) and Aviation and Space Technology (TLiA) from 2023. OJS enables comprehensive management of the journal publishing process, from authors’ manuscript submissions, through peer review, to publication on the website. It also offers additional features, such as integration with databases (e.g. DOAJ), DOI, ORCID and ROR identifier systems, and the option of indexing in Google Scholar.

From the outset until the end of 2023, LUT PH journals made articles available under the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC BY-SA) licence. From January 2024, they adopted the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY 4.0 Int.) licence, whilst the fully open-access journals that have published under this licence from the outset are ACS and the now-defunct JTEME.

Since 2024, the Lublin University of Technology Publishing House has been a member of the Association of Academic Publishers (SWSW).

Since 2026, it has also been a member of The Association of European University Presses (AEUP).

The activities of the Lublin University of Technology Publishing House significantly impact the academic community, raising awareness of the benefits of disseminating scholarly output via Open Access, which ensures free and immediate access to publications.
